Navy Midshipmen will play Troy for the first time when they square off on Senior Day at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 3:30 p.m.
Navy’s 33 seniors will be honored in a Senior Salute. The senior class of 2012 has compiled a record of 29-19 (.604), played in three bowl games, won a bowl game, won two Commander-In-Chief’s trophies, defeated Notre Dame twice and recorded a combined 5-2 record against Army and Air Force. The seniors will be looking to complete their careers with an undefeated 4-0 record against the Black Knights on Dec. 10.
Troy is coached by legendary head coach Larry Blakeney, who is in his 20th season as the head man at Troy and has compiled a career record of 163-87-1. Blakeney has taken Troy to five bowl games since joining the FBS in 2002 and has the fourth-longest uninterrupted tenure among active head coaches in college football.
The Trojans enter Saturday’s game as losers of three straight. The Trojans last lost three straight games in 2006 when they lost four straight early in the season at Florida State, Georgia Tech, Nebraska and UAB.
The Navy v. Troy football game viewing will be at Jocks & Jills Galleria. The Galleria (2778 Cumberland Blvd SE # 586, Smyrna (770) 952-4254) is located across Cobb Parkway from the Cumberland Mall.
